Charles Bradley Gets His James Brown on at SXSW -- Exclusive Video

Taking that old "better late than never" ethos to heart, 62-year-old soul singer Charles Bradley and the Menahan Street Band wowed fans at Spinner's official SXSW showcase Thursday night with a collection of songs from his recently released debut album, 'No Time for Dreaming.'

Bradley has had a hard life -- his brother was murdered, and he worked for years as a James Brown tribute artist -- but now he's making up for lost time, singing, dancing and emoting like a world-class showman. Brown's announcer used to ask "Are you ready for star time?" and Thursday at Stubb's, the answer was a resounding yes.
