Skylar Grey Gets Surprise Introduction to the Rap World -- Exclusive Video

Skylar Grey, the mysterious writer behind Eminem and Rihanna's 'Love the Way You Lie,' grew up touring with her mother in a folk duo called Generations. When the singer-songwriter was approached by several big hitters in the rap community, her lack of familiarity with the genre meant she had to do a little research.

"I really had no knowledge of that world until I got the hook on the Eminem record," Grey told Spinner. "I did buy one of his records when I was younger. It was the only rap album I had. But after this hook, 'Love the Way You Lie' got taken for his album I kind of had to do some research and learn about the urban world."
