A frontrunner for last year's Polaris Prize, which was unexpectedly won by Franco-rockers Karkwa, 'TSOL' may finally get the national push it needs with this similarly unexpected Juno score.
"Wow, I'm very surprised. It's like the Emmy going to Theo's friend Cockroach," said Shad, flashing a giant smile during his acceptance speech. "I feel like a very lucky guy to be making music."
Backstage, Shad elaborated on his "Cockroach" comment to the media: "You guys don't know Theo's friend Cockroach, from 'The Cosby Show'?"
The rapper cracked some more jokes, and visibly still stunned by his surprise win, admitted he hadn't even prepared an acceptance speech as he was certain it was Drizzy who would be in the winner's circle.
