That's right -- Simon will perform at the famed Fillmore in San Francisco (April 27), the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. (May 27) and the House of Blues in Boston (June 2), in addition to other new club dates in Seattle, Los Angeles, Toronto and Chicago. Props to Simon for giving the go-ahead to get all up in it with fans this spring.
In the press release for the tour, Simon tells Rolling Stone that he's looking forward to the informal atmosphere and the anything-goes freedom that only works in smaller venues. "I want to play several songs from the new album and music from my repertoire that I either haven't played in concert or have played very seldom," Simon says. "I'll play a few songs by other people, maybe a couple of Simon and Garfunkel songs. And then late in the evening, who knows, I might pick up my acoustic guitar and sing whatever comes into my mind. That's the fun of clubs -- it's looser."
Fans who want to get all footloose and fancy free with Simon can try for tickets when they go on sale to the public this weekend. But good luck -- demand promises to be greater than supply. Simon's latest release, 'So Beautiful or So What,' has been called a return to form for the superstar and, unlike his concert tickets, is currently on sale everywhere.
