Peter Gabriel to Reinterpret Hits from 'So' with the New Blood Orchestra

Longtime musical chameleon Peter Gabriel -- who began his career as a co-founder of Genesis before shapeshifting into a multi-faceted solo artist -- unveiled his newest project/whim this week. Working with longtime collaborator John Metcalf, Gabriel will showcase new symphonic arrangements of deep cuts and classic smashes from his solo catalog, as performed by the New Blood Orchestra.

First up: Gabriel will take his New Blood Orchestra on the road with him for a 12-date 'New Blood Tour' of North America this summer. The jaunt kicks off on June 10 at the Greek in Berkeley, Calif. and wraps on June 29 at the Marcus Amphitheatre in Milwaukee.

Following the run, Gabriel plans to release an album with the New Blood Orchestra, conducted by Ben Foster, featuring his catalog cuts remixed symphonically. For those paying attention, Gabriel did a similar thing like this last year, but with all covers. And, yes, the playlist is expected to include many of those glorious nuggets from the album 'So' that music fans of a certain age can, still, fondly recall by heart. That album celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. They grow up so fast, don't they?
