Dynamic duo Broken Bells are a classy combination that mix just enough pop with alternative splendor. James Mercer of the Shins and Brian Burton, aka Danger Mouse, became fast friends when they met at the 2004 Roskilde Festival in Copenhagen. Six years later, their friendship would culminate with a killer new project and a chart-topping debut album.

The band's new EP, 'Meyrin Fields,' employs indie-rock-infused songwriting and quality production, characteristic of both Mercer and Burton's previous projects.

And now, they're premiering a video for 'Heartless Empire,' which shows Mercer helming the seven-piece rock outfit while Danger Mouse hits the drums and ragged guitar chords rip underneath the verby vocals and brass accompaniment.
