The LP explores the high and hellish moments of a relationship and features more of the intricate rock that made the 2009 Juno winner for Songwriter of the Year a platinum artist in his native Canada. Green recorded the album this past winter at Catherine North Studios in Hamilton, Ontario, where he worked with acclaimed produced Alex Newport (At the Drive-In, Mars Volta, Death Cab for Cutie).

'Fragile Bird' showcases a tambourine-driven backbeat, fuzzed out guitars and Green's vocals soaring high over the whole mix. The structure of the song feels a bit like the Black Keys, but with a heavy dose of solemnity instead of blues riffs.
City and Colour are currently on a world tour but will return stateside April 14 for this year's Coachella music festival.

It just reminds me of a mellow Ben Kenney. I like Ben Kenney a lot, but I love love love old City and Colour. With that being said, every artist grows and changes and their music usually represents their changes as human beings and musicians, for that, I completely respect the change in style. Keep it up Dallas.

I'll wait for the entire album to judge the whole thing... but I prefer old stuff than this song.
I prefer the melancholy of the first CD.
City and Colour sounding like The Black Keys has caused my heart to burst out of happiness. I praise the new rock influenced song and can't wait to hear the others.
