Daedelus Likens Making Music to Polygamous Breeding -- Exclusive Video

Los Angeles producer Daedelus could easily play you an accordion ditty, but for solo performances, he prefers electronic music and its "limitless palette of sound." As a pioneer of the monome, he knows a thing or two about experimenting musically, and was ecstatic to discover so many like-minded musicians and labels at this year's SXSW.

"I'm endlessly impressed by the sounds I've been hearing from all corners, especially for electronic music," he tells Spinner.

"There's no doom and gloom in the industry right now. Every new label provides an outlet for a different sound; every label has its own vibe. It's like being in a different relationship with a different... I don't want to go too far into the metaphor. But you're basically making different kinds of children with different kinds of ... labels."

'Bespoke,' Daedelus' latest bundle of joy with label Ninja Tune, will be delivered April 26.
