Yuck Meet Date-Farming Drummer in the Desert -- Exclusive Video

Yuck, the strange-yet-wonderful international indie-rock group, recently released their self-titled debut to much acclaim. Often compared to the likes of Neutral Milk Hotel, Dinosaur Jr. and Sonic Youth, Yuck showcase layers of twanging guitars, lush symphonic pop and super heavy rhythms.

Spinner sat down with the up-and-coming rockers before their show at this year's SXSW festival to discuss their influences and how they met their drummer Jonny Rogoff.

"Jonny came over from New Jersey to play with us. He dropped out of university ... I met him really weirdly in the desert," singer Daniel Blumberg told Spinner. "I went to visit some friends and he was like, farming dates, um, in this date farm and then we just -- he was working in the kitchen ... We got on well and I remembered him when we were like talking about drummers. We sent him all of our songs ... [and] he just came [to England]."
