The Black Angels Teach Roky Erikson His Own Songs -- Exclusive Video

Alex Maas and his band the Black Angels aren't afraid to dig deep into the murky floor of blues-infused rock and pull out balanced tunes that ring out with the electric guitars of Hades. Inspired by the Velvet Underground, these Austin dudes understand the delicacy of '60s lyricism and song structure. In this exclusive video interview, the band discusses meeting Lou Reed and backing Roky Erikson onstage.

"It was kind of like riding a horse without a saddle or reins and the horse is kind of going wherever it wants and it's running really fast and it's nighttime," Maas tells Spinner.
