Michael, who recently served jail time following an incident involving his vehicle, the side of a building and drug use, has been in the public eye for his exploits more than his music, as of late. He was known friends with Princess Diana but tweeted that he will not be attending her son's wedding -- "they should be surrounded by people they love, not dodgy ex-con pop stars!" he joked.
While the download is scheduled to be made available for free at Piers Morgan's CNN site and Michael's own official website, he's politely asking fans who grab the track to donate to the Royal Wedding Charity Fund -- details of which he planned to discuss during his Piers Morgan Tonight appearance. "I could have put it on georgemichael.com but I want Will and Kate to know that this is a genuine gift, not a promo exercise, so..." he tweeted.
And while the download itself is free, Michael sent out a number of tweets on Friday explaining that the track narrowly escaped being "the most expensive wedding pressie I ever gave anyone" after the song's publisher, EMI, wanted to charge the singer royalties for every single download. While details remain murky, it appears -- going from the unfolding drama on Michael's Twitter account -- that Wonder himself came to the rescue. Guess the royal couple can think of this as a gift from the both of them.

You drenched the vocal in autotune on True Faith and it ruined it for me. Maybe it's Lennon syndrome - not realising what an amazing voice you have and drowning it in effects to compensate. Autotune is so crap - where would the black eyed peas et al be without it though! Lol
