According to a press release today, Devo will perform a free outdoor show at Yonge-Dundas Square on a bill with '80s Canadian rock band Men Without Hats. The concert is being presented by AOL.
"We're excited to have such legendary artists play the busiest hub in Toronto for the largest music festival in Canada," AOL Canada's senior music editor Joshua Ostroff says. "It will be a great time, with amazing music and we're looking forward to being right in the centre of the party."
Meanwhile Descendents will play a free show at Yonge-Dundas Square on June 16, with Montreal bands Stars and Land of Talk also staging a free concert there the following evening. The Stars concert will also be a live-to-air North American broadcast through Sirius Satellite Radio.
Other newly added artists include OFF!, Shad, Digable Planets, Twin Shadow, Chad VanGaalen, Cults and British rock band Art Brut. Previously announced acts include Anti-Flag, the Bouncing Souls, Deerhoof, Hot Water Music and the Dodos, among others.
All NXNE Festival passes and wristbands are currently on sale through the festival site. Special early-bird packages for NXNE Priority Passes will be available until April 25. Additional lineup information and the NXNE Film schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.
