DMB Caravan Announces New Stops With the Roots, Gogol Bordello, Dispatch

While they're technically supposed to have the summer off from touring, Dave Matthews Band are instead settling into roles as camp councilors, or something of the sort, as they host four major music festivals this summer. The final two of which have just been announced for Governor's Island in New York City (Aug. 26 - 28) and the famed Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Wash. (Sept. 2 - 4). As with the two previously announced festivals, the Dave Matthews Band Caravan title somewhat betrays its lineups. In other words, DMB fans will not be the only ones attending. Case in point: the Roots, Gogol Bordello and Dispatch will be at both of the new stops.

Additional artists that have signed on for the Gorge include Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, John Butler Trio and Blind Pilot, among others. And Governor's Island will sport sets by Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, and Robert Randolph & the Family Band. Atlantic City and Chicago still look to be the big ones, as their rosters resemble a little mini version of Austin City Limits or even a tiny Bonnaroo, with artists ranging wildly in both popularity and genre -- Flaming Lips, Kid Cudi, Bassnectar, Dr. Dog, Thievery Corporation and Michael Franti & Spearhead are just some of the acts along for the ride. Tickets for those two Caravans are already on sale while Governor's Island and the Gorge will go on sale to the public beginning on May 6.
