According to the post, the A-side is a new Wilco song entitled 'I Might' while the B-side will be a cover of the Nick Lowe song 'I Love My Label.' The Lowe cover seems appropriate as it will mark the first release from the band on their own label dBpm Records.
"More recording news to come very, very soon," the band added. "Standby."
The single will be released worldwide sometime in July and will lead up to Wilco's next full-length, the follow-up to 2009's 'Wilco (The Album).'
Jeff Tweedy told SPIN the effort is tentatively titled 'Get Well Soon Everybody,' and isn't slated for release until September at the earliest.
The singer also noted the band are still in the process of determining which songs will make the cut, and hinted the record may be a double album: "I do think it's a little bit more obnoxious and irreverent of a pop record than people have heard from us, maybe, ever."
Tentative song titles so far include 'Art of Almost,' 'Whole Love,' and 'Born Alone,' plus the 14-minute 'Song for Jane Smiley's Boyfriend,' which Tweedy revealed is an autobiographical song complete with ten verses.
As previously reported, Wilco formed the label earlier this year with ANTI-Records providing distribution.
"This is an idea we've discussed for years," lead singer Jeff Tweedy said earlier this year. "We really like doing things ourselves, so have our own label feels pretty natural to me."
Wilco have a handful of US dates in May prior to the Solid Sound Festival in North Adams, Massachusetts. Meanwhile, Tweedy has a solo performance at the Winnipeg Folk Festival on July 10.
