Teaming up with guitarists Rodrigo y Gabriela, Zimmer sought a more Latin atmosphere for the newest 'Pirates' film. "We have Penélope Cruz playing Angelica, who's Spanish, so I felt that there could be some Latin influences in the score for 'On Stranger Tides,'" Zimmer said in a release.

The song features a marching drum tapping away in the background, saw-like string arrangements cutting away with the dueling guitarists flying over the top, buzzing like elegant bees. "I've been a big fan of Mexican guitarists Rodrigo y Gabriela for years now," Zimmer continued. "And I asked them if they wanted to come and play with us. We've been having a really great time with them being part of the musical world this film gets to inhabit."
The soundtrack will also feature remixes by Ki: Theory and Photek and trumpet contributions from jazz legend Arturo Sandoval. The 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' soundtrack is due out May 17 via Disney. The film will hit theaters on May 20.

What an amazing combination of artists and writers. They are playing the track on Jay Leno tonight, but more importantly Rodrigo y Gabriela are playing at the Big Chill Festival, headling Sunday. What an amazing spectacle to bring to the UK festival!
