Musically, Springfield is most famous for his 1981 hit single 'Jessie's Girl,' which is still a staple of classic rock radio. While he was never really able to match that success on the charts, Springfield remained a popular recording artist through the rest of that decade. But he didn't stop making music for his fans and, these days, their offspring too -- his most recent album, 2009's 'My Precious Little One,' is a collection of original songs for children.
Outside of music, Springfield also has a career as an actor, both for television and film. In that arena, Springfield is probably most famous for his role as Dr. Noah Drake on the daytime soap opera 'General Hospital.'
The Associated Press reports that a test placed Springfield's blood-alcohol level at .10 percent; California's legal limit is .08 percent. He is due to appear in court on July 5.
