What's that Song From the Windows Phone 'What If' Commercial?

What if the best-looking band in the world also had brains?
That's a paraphrase of the opening for the latest triple-branded commercial for the Samsung Focus phone that's sold by AT&T and features Microsoft's new mobile operating system, Windows Phone 7. Exchange "phone" for "band" and you have the announcer's words verbatim. The commercial features the hit song 'Infinity Guitars' by Sleigh Bells, the young Brooklyn noise-rock duo who have garnered serious buzz from their debut album, 'Treats,' released last spring.
The opening line makes sense. The best phones are desire without reservation. A pro list without a con. Buying a phone is entering a relationship.
Loving a band is the same. And Sleigh Bells offer a lot to love.
The duo's brand of rock is smart (their layered crunch isn't "heavy" as much as it's a binary pair of black holes) and image-conscious (their video for 'Infinity Guitars' featured them roaring up in a Ferrari and dressed as the likely winners of their senior prom's royalty court). It melds well with any advertisement meant to sell the most ubiquitously smart and image-conscious product on today's market: a phone.
The commercial grabs the first snippet of the song, with Sleigh Bells singer Alexis Krauss belting out the initial vocal melodies while guitarist Derek Miller's sharp riff builds below. The 30-second spot is a quick hit, lacking any real bells (no pun intended) or whistles. It features an array of spinning Focus phones and a narrator describing the operating system's myriad talents-most notably among them the addition of gaming on Xbox LIVE.
The music combined with the narration creates an aggressive, confident-bordered-on-cocky advertisement. And the attitude works. The phone looks like it has a bright future, and in this commercial, the companies partnered with a band looking at the same.
