Adele's Ex-Boyfriend Asks for Cut of '19' Royalties

Adele has revealed that her ex-boyfriend -- the inspiration for her debut album '19' -- has been in touch seeking royalties.

The singer has made no secret of her former partner's influence on the album. As a result, the man, who Adele refuses to name, has called repeatedly trying to gain financially from the heartbreak he inflicted on the singer.

Not surprisingly, Adele knocked him back. Speaking to the Sun, she explained, "For about a week he was calling and was deadly serious about it. Finally, I said, 'Well, you made my life hell, so I lived it and now I deserve it.'

"He really thought he'd had some input into the creative process by being a p----. I'll give him this credit -- he made me an adult and put me on the road that I'm travelling."

Elsewhere in the interview, the singer admitted she doesn't listen to the kind of music she makes, favouring straight pop instead. "I'm a huge fan of pop music," she said. "I love it. I don't listen to music like my own. I just seem to click with the acoustic, honest and moving music. But I adore get-your-t---s-out music."

No matter what people say or think about Adele's music, it does not give any human the right to belittle her as a person, nor the success she has. People going out of their way to say they "don't like her music and she's pretty lame" is just hitting below the belt. She deserves everything she has worked for, clearly. People that put you down, break your entire being down, and trash everything you deserve nothing but a "Thank you", for making you realize how great of a person you are and for giving you that extra push as a "hater". I love Adele, I do not know her personally, but I do know she has a rare and amazing voice. What she sings about is the pain she couldn't express to the men that don't even deserve to be mentioned. And for one asking for royalities, he should go crawl up in a corner and never show his face again. How do you shatter the whole heart cavity of someone and make them feel as though life could not go on, and then expect to be rewarded for your actions. NOOOOOOOO!!!! HELL NO! Adele deserves everything she works for, even though it seemed really easy getting signed lol, but SHE did it. Her body produced the sound, HER drive produced a hit star! She could have easily decided to give up on life, but instead, SHE took her hurt and anger and put it towards something beautiful. You don't have to like the music, nor do you have to like her, but I'm sure she could careless. She's had worse pain then the little words people say. Beautiful person and beautiful singer! I can't wait to see her live! And I can't wait to see what's next!

Her music is pretty lame. So is she actually. As for her chubby chasing ex, I hope he does take her to court. He has a decent chance of winning with a good lawyer.

Love love love Adele pure talent. The song content/ the words didn't make the album a hit her voice did! So F off X of Adele just pissy b/c you left her thinking she wouldn't amount to anything karma is a b*tch.

When a man makes your life hell even during the creative process, he deserves nothing, but nothing. if it was done in a loving relationship, then I would give a second thought to helping him. From what, I have heard, He deserves NOTHING BUT NOTHING. HE GAVE YOU NOTHING BUT TROUBLE, SOOOOOO- HE GETS NOTHING FROM YOU BUT TROUBLE.
