Taking place at Paddock Wood, Kent, the Hop Farm festival will also see headlining performances from the Eagles and Morrissey on July 1 and 3 respectively. Also scheduled to appear over the weekend are Iggy and the Stooges, Brandon Flowers and Lou Reed.
Festival organiser Vince Power spoke of his excitement at securing Prince for the festival. He said in statement: "We have worked hard to get the third day up and running and we hope that fans will appreciate the integrity of the bill and see it's one of the most musically exciting this year that stands head and shoulders above a lot of other festivals."
The event marks Prince's first UK show since his legendary 21-night residency at the O2 Arena in 2007.
Tickets for Prince's headlining show at the Hop Farm festival go on sale on Thursday, May 19, priced £70 ($113). Existing weekend tickets can be upgraded for an additional £40 ($64.60) and all details are available at the Hop Farm festival website.
