Currently in talks with major labels about a possible deal, the lineup believed to be labouring under the moniker 'Super Heavy', features an eclectic array of artists. A source was quoted by the New York Post: "They just finished a record and their first video and are talking to major labels about a deal. The name for the band at the moment is Super Heavy."
Another source told the Post, "Each member has a very distinct and different style, but it works. Mick has been recording with Dave for a while, and both worked with Joss in the past."
Alongside soul singer Stone, former Eurythmics star Stewart and Bob Marley's youngest son, Sir Mick is also joined by A.R. Rahman. Known as "The Mozart of Madras," Rahman was responsible for the double Oscar-winning music for 'Slumdog Millionaire.'
In response to the Super Heavy claims, a representative for Sir Mick said, "They all thought it would be interesting and great fun to go into the studio and play some music. No video has been shot, no label in place. All a bit premature."

I forgot something... :)
"Keith is missing"
No he's not, he's taken up acting in children's films. Sorry, I couldn't resist. I've loved the Stones since they first came to America and teenagers argued Beatles vs. Stones like you had to choose one or the other.
What a great blend of talent and backgrounds.
"give the new kids a shot"
Joss turned 24 last month, does that count? I know, she's been successful since she was 14, but 24 is still young, right? Jr. Gong Marley isn't but 32 or so iirc. And she previously worked with him, it's on youtube: Nas & Damian Marley feat Joss Stone & Lil Wayne - "My Generation". No, it's not that my generation.
At least I know who some of these people are!!

May 21 2011 at 9:55 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyAnyone who thinks Joss Stone has no talent...has either never heard Joss Stone sing, or just hasn't been paying attention. Dave Stewart has worked with some of the best...and he's just continuing that tradition. And what can you say about Mick jagger that hasn't been said? I think this has some amazing potential...that having been said, there are those ignorant wannabe critics who think the project needs a Keith Richard in the lineup...well, we already have a band with Mick and Keith in the lineup. This is why Mick is doing what he's donig with these other folks...to try something else. Why do you think Robert Plant is touring to support his own album instead of doing a Led Zeppelin reunion, something he's already stated he isn't interested in doing? Do people NOT understand side peojects and an artist's needs to see what else they're capable of? Not everyone likes yo justy sit in their comfort zone and not challenge themselves. I applaud them and I wish them well.

May 21 2011 at 11:14 PM Report abuse Permalink -2 rate up rate down ReplyThere has not been a "Supergroup" formed in ages....I guess The Traveling Wilbury's was the last. I wouldn't call adding Joss and Dave Stewart to MICK a Supergroup..they would more likely be his backup....unless mick dons those Yellow Sneakers again and sings another duet of "dancing in the streets" with Joss lol.
