Talking to Q magazine, he said, "There'll probably be a Darkness album in 2012, but somehow we'll get new music out before then. A UK tour at the end of that year and then the world. Again."
The band announced their comeback earlier this year following a five-year break and will headline the Download festival in June.
The Darkness are also set to play a host of warm-up gigs, including Norwich Waterfront on June 5, Leamington Spa Assembly on June 6 and London's Shepherd's Bush Empire on June 8.
Rock festival Download, meanwhile, takes place June 10-12 and features headliners Def Leppard, System of a Down and Linkin Park.
The Darkness reunion sees the original line-up back together -- brothers Justin and Dan Hawkins, bassist Frankie Poullain and drummer Ed Graham.
