Courtney Love Gets Sued for Twitter Defamation Again

It's been quite a week for Courtney Love. After the Fix released an interview with the eccentric rocker in which she candidly spoke -- or shared way too much, depending on your point of view -- about her drug use and sex life, she's now been hit with yet another defamation lawsuit related to her old Twitter account.

This time, Love has drawn the ire of attorney Rhonda Holmes, who claims the Hole singer hurt her career after allegations of bribery. Love had hired Holmes and her firm to try to recoup the money that was allegedly stolen from Kurt Cobain's estate, but she eventually fired them after questioning their strategies and disobeying orders to stay sober. She tried to hire them again six months later, only to be rejected by Holmes and company.

And what was Love to do but go on Twitter and vent about it? "I was f---ing devastated when Rhonda J Holmes Esq of San Diego was bought off," she wrote online. As Holmes' filings indicate, Love also brought her up in interviews, saying "they got to her" and "she's disappeared."

So, what does that mean? Obviously, we have no idea, but Holmes says that the allegations have marred her career. The suit also references Love's last legal go-round over Twitter, when she was forced to pay $430,000 to a fashion designer who she called a "drug-pushing prostitute with a history of assault and battery." Not exactly constructive criticism.

At this rate, we should have at least 12 more hours before Love is involved in another controversy or legal dispute, but it's a holiday weekend, so anything's possible.
