The Dodos Learn Not to Pick Up Hitchhikers in 'Companions' -- New Video

Creepy is not something that comes to mind when discussing indie-folk act the Dodos. But that's the direction they went with for their new video for 'Companions,' a track off their 'No Color' album.

In the clip, frontman Meric Long spends most of his time driving along a dark road before stopping to pick up a hitchhiker. Apparently, he didn't get that memo from a few decades ago that it's an idiotically dangerous idea. You get where this is going.

"This video was one of the first things we did after completing the album," drummer Logan Kroeber tells Spinner. "We went down to L.A. and filmed it in one marathon session from noon until 6 in the morning. We owe a huge thank you to Colin and Marc for manning the cameras and to our friend Bo (the villain) for walking around like a madman out in the middle of nowhere all night in the freezing cold. Much of the video was inspired by Bo's roommate's dog -- RIP Winston!"
