Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' Jacket, 'This Is It' Wig to Sell at Auction

Save your money, kids. Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' jacket is up for auction.

Deemed "the most recognized and significant piece of pop culture" to come up for sale by Music Icons auction administrator Darren Julien, the iconic red and black leather jacket worn by the King of Pop in his legendary 14-minute-long video for 'Thriller,' goes on sale at the Music Icons auction in Beverly Hills, C.A., on June 25 and 26.

As the AP reports, Jackson autographed the jacket, which he intended to use as a template for future concert costumes, and gifted it to his costume designers Dennis Tompkins and Michael Bush.

The jacket is expected to bring in from $200-400,000 and a portion of the proceeds of which will benefit the Shambala Preserve, where MJ's Bengal tigers, Thriller and Sabu, have been keptsince Jackson left his Neverland ranch in 2006.

Also up for auction are a concert-worn fedora and spangled glove, the shirt Jackson wore in the video for 'Scream,' the fright wig he wore when he announced his 'This Is It' concert series in London and a mailbox from the Carolwood Drive estate where he died in 2009.

The Music Icon auction collection will be available for public view from June 13-24 at Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills, and also includes over 600 pieces of memorabilia owned by the Beatles, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash, Kurt Cobain, Madonna and many more.
