As the Associated Press reports, a woman was found dead of unspecified causes in a campsite in the late hours of Thursday, June 9. Coffee County Sheriff Stephen M. Graves revealed that the body of the 32-year-old, who is from the Pittsburgh area, was found by her friends.
As of now, the victim's name has not been revealed while the police inform her family. An autopsy is pending. As the AP reports, the temperature on Thursday was 91 degrees, so heatstroke may be to blame.
This isn't the first time a fan has died at Bonnaroo. A man died of heat exhaustion in 2010, and a man's body was found by maintenance workers in 2009. In prior years, six other people passed away at the festival, including two from drugs and two from automobile-related accidents.

Bonnaroo.
I live 20 miles south. There are currently 31 TN Hwy Patrol cars parked at the local hotel - those are the ones HERE - and on break. And yet TN ranks 7th in Starving Children. Our small town which is one of the last "commercial" exits before the festival has TONS of stoned people streaming through the stores. Don't get me started on the ECO impact because I've driven by the aftermath several years. And just HOW many people have to die?? I'm an old hippie who ran a sustainable farm in the 70's - before it was "Hollywood Hip." I retain many of those values - but guess what?? -- I've evolved. Bonnaroo is SUCH a testament to today's Social hypocrisy it's far beyond funny... Hope I live to see Society catch up to where many of us have found ourselves. But then...that would be a miracle, no??

June 11 2011 at 11:45 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWent in 06 and 07 and wont ever go again. Need to move it to April or May seems like its always 100 outside when they have it. Probably more drugs there then Woodstock all available from campground vendors. People walk around with garbage bags full of drugs selling it to people. 07 it was 100+ everyday and you were choking on dust. Just isnt worth it considering how bad the music sounds with all the stages so close together. So unless the headliners are really good or you enjoy being around a bunch of unwashed, drugged out, naked, freaky people then I'd suggest skipping it.
