The 68-year-old singer was then found in possession of freebase cocaine. James Silverstein, Stone's lawyer, told TMZ that his client was riding in a friend's camper vehicle and was pulled over for a routine traffic violation.
This isn't the funk legend's first brush with the law. Back in 1989, Stone was extradited to California from New Jersey by the FBI after he had been avoiding a drug charge in Los Angeles, according to the L.A. Times.

Drugs was probably a part of his life before the Fame his usage just escalated because he had more money. he's no different than the rest of society with drug addictions he just had more money = more drugs .

He was so stoned he could hardly sing. What ever happened to resposibility to the fans who made you so rich? The opening act, Kool & The Gang, didn't show up at all. They sent Kool's little brother's band, The KGs, to fill in.

June 11 2011 at 7:49 AM Report abuse Permalink +1 rate up rate down ReplyAfter reading many of these comments, one thing stands out. It seems they all are convinced he is already guilty. It is probably how the article was written, it seems we do not wait for the trial anymore. If I had to bet on the matter I would probably bet the drugs were his, but as a legal matter he is innocent until proven guilty.
