Adele Returning to the Stage in Two Weeks After Suffering Laryngitis

UPDATE: In a post on her blog, Adele offered the following update: "I've had a check up and I'm on the mend. I still need to take it easy and rest but things are looking up. I haven't been told to not sing or talk for a month. I have given up smoking again! And also I'm not having singing lessons. I got better before and I'm getting better this time, and I will do everything I can to make sure nothing like this happens again! I'm gonna be on stage in London in just under two weeks but its a surprise I think!?"

ORIGINAL STORY: Adele has been ordered by doctors to stop singing and avoid talking for at least a month as she seeks to recover from laryngitis, according to reports.

The singer, whose '21' album returned to the top of the Billboard chart last week, was forced to cancel her North American tour earlier this month after her condition showed no sign of improvement.

She wrote on her official website at the time, "I'm really frustrated. I was hoping with a weeks rest I'd be better to sing again straight away. However there is absolutely nothing I can do but take the doctors advice and rest some more. I'm so sorry."

In part attributed to her inability to stop smoking, it now appears that her condition has yet to improve. A source was quoted by the News of the World saying (via Digital Spy), "Adele's voice is very special. But if she continues to abuse it in the way she has, then she could lose it completely. The problem is that she's now back in London and seeing her mates like the comedian Alan Carr, and all she wants to do is have a gossip with them."

QUIT SMOKING FOR GOOD! I did, I took Chantix for 4 months. I look better, smell better. It is a very hard thing to do. I still miss it and I have not had a cig in 6 months.
Good Luck. LOVE your CD "21". Listen to it everyday in my car.

Please Remember you are in control, you are your own person, you are an adult and can smoke any time, anytime you wish. YOU can also simply make up your mind that while you are in control of you, you can do what I want, what I know, what I insist, quick, right now, this instant, QUIT! Don't tell anyone, never say your trying because trying doesn't make it.. QUIT...YOU see Adele, I love your extraordinary voice your laid bare soul...I want, I really want you to be singing for many many many years to come..If you do otherwise then I will know you simply don't care and I will then stop, utterly and completely stop loving you...I will erase your from my mind..Get well immediately and throw all smoking paraphernalia out. ^..

Heres the thing I love adeles voice but if she is having this much trouble with it. It is most likely she is not singing correctly. There are correct ways to sing and Incorrect ways to sing, this is why some singers cant sing past 40 and there are some in their 80s who sitll can sing. Its not just about belting out notes, there is technique involved and this is what young singers need to learn if they want to have long successful singing careers.

Great voice. I cannot put my finger on it but for some reason with this great voice she seems annoying. Do not know why but she just is to me. Maybe the music and her style will grow on me. Also - if not - so what !!
