"The song is such a s---kicker so we figured we would use the video budget to throw a big old party a la the 'party at the moontower' from the movie 'Dazed and Confused,'" Atkins tells Spinner. "I wanted to give a sense of place where both fun and trouble are bred. The song is about a gossipy type making up rumors about your relationship. After a dozen drinks at a party in the summer, who knows what kind of stories will be conjured up the next morning? Also, it was fun to make."
Atkins' retro tone is perfectly distinguished through her bluesy guitar, orchestral melodies and fuzzed-out vocals reminiscent of Janis Joplin. The singer's newest album, 'Mondo Amore,' is available now via Razor and Tie.
