Noel Gallagher Marries Longtime Girlfriend With Russell Brand as Best Man

Former Oasis lead guitarist and Britpop godfather Noel Gallagher tied the knot with longtime girlfriend Sara MacDonald over the weekend, his rep confirmed with People magazine. The couple wed on Saturday, June 18 at the Lime Wood Hotel in New Forest, England. The two had been dating for 11 years and have two sons together, Donovan, 3, and Sonny, 8 months.

The star-studded ceremony included the modfather Paul Weller, frontman for the Jam, as well as Russell Brand, who reportedly served as best man and once co-hosted British radio show TalkSPORT with Gallagher. After conducting the nuptials, the couple shared their first dance to the Ronette's 'Be My Baby.' Conspicuously absent was Gallagher's brother Liam, with whom Noel shares one of rock's most notoriously unstable relationships. The brothers' ongoing feud eventually led to the dissolution of Oasis in 2009.

Liam, who hasn't spoken to Noel since the breakup, seemed definitely (maybe?) slighted about not being invited to the wedding. In a recent interview with the Chicago Sun-Times, he said, "I'm busy playing gigs in Chicago. He goes on about how he wasn't invited to my wedding. No one was at my wedding but Nic's [wife Nicole Appleton] mum and my mum. Get over it, mate. I've not been invited to his wedding. I'll be in Chicago. I'll come cry about it to Oprah." Liam is currently touring with his band Beady Eye -- otherwise known as Oasis minus Noel.
