Madeleine Peyroux Goes Folk for 'The Things I've Seen Today' -- Video Premiere

Like the ghost of Billie Holiday reincarnated in a folk femme fatale, Madeleine Peyroux channels the the beginnings of jazz through a contemporary sound. The singer's latest album, 'Standing on the Rooftop,' showcases her vocal talents over a more acoustic sound.

The live recording of 'The Things I've Seen Today' below features Peyroux and her band in full form, with a rustic country lead line and a subtle whirling Rhodes piano combining to make the perfect backdrop for her sultry, sad vocals.

"No matter where we come from or where we're going, we've all got memories to contend with, and it's always best not to do this alone!" the singer tells Spinner about her lovelorn ballad.
