The duo's new album is yet to be given a name, but speaking to Spin.com, singer and guitarist Dan Auerbach revealed that it will feature some of the "fastest" tracks they have ever played on.
It marks a departure from their last record, with the 2010 album having an "open feeling," punctuated by "slower songs."
Speaking of the new record, Auerbach said, "It's the fastest we've ever played. The new album doesn't sound like 'Brothers.' It doesn't have that open soul feel to it. It's way more driving and the tempos are really fast."
Producer Danger Mouse (aka Brian Burton) was at the helm of the blues rocker's 2008 album 'Attack & Release' and one track on 'Brothers,' with the latter giving the band their highest ever chart positions.
Auerbach waxed lyrical about Danger Mouse, stating that he has some "really great ideas".
He added, "He understands all the different kinds of music we're into. He's got really great ideas about melody and song structure. For him it's all about the song."
