Named after the Purple One's New Power Generation backing band, the NPG Music and Art Festival takes place at the Danish capital's 10-Oren venue over Aug. 6 and 7, yet the festival's website only appeared a month ago.
Prince is to headline both nights, with Chaka Khan also appearing twice, as does Nikka Costa. Raphael Saadiq and Sly and the Family Stone bassist Larry Graham play on Aug. 6, with Janelle Monae on the next day's bill.
On the site, Prince describes the festival as an event that "will play host to real music by real musicians." A sign that this remains a work in progress come just on Tuesday, as saxophonist Maceo Parker has been announced for Sunday.
The second day was only added two days ago, which explains the idiosyncratic ticketing system: between £65/$105 per day, with reduced prices on Sunday for those that have already bought Saturday tickets. Before that, organisers introduced an inner circle for fans willing to shell out more money after tickets went on sale.
