Part of the fun of music festivals if you're a band on the bill is catching the other performers. It's usually only at these gigs that touring musicians can find time to watch another act shine. And at last week's Festival d'été in Quebec City, Metallica's James Hetfield did just that, taking in a show by Canadian rapper Buck 65. According to Toronto weekly The Grid, the metal Messiah left a message for Buck 65 following his July 15 set, which said "loved the show" and "[your] lyrics are amazing." A fairytale story like this should convince Buck 65 to keep putting his best foot forward onstage, 'cause, clearly, you never know who's watching.
