Arctic Monkeys Among the Big Winners at Mojo Awards

Their album 'Suck It and See' was deemed to be the best album of the past year by the magazine, whilst the Breakthrough Award went to Rumer.
As Digital Spy reports, Grinderman picked up the Song of the Year Award for their track 'Heathen Child' and Primal Scream's 'Screamadelica' won the Classic Album Award.
Other notable winners included John Grant in the Best Live Act category, Ringo Starr, who collected the Icon Award, and Beach Boys' Brian Wilson, who was inducted into the Mojo hall of fame.
Mojo editor-in-chief Phil Alexander took time to praise some of the winners, calling Arctic Monkeys "incredibly special". He said, "Mojo has always been proud to champion the Arctic Monkeys. They've been on the cover twice in two years. There is something about them that is incredibly special. I think it's because they fit in a long line of truly great British artists."
Speaking of the "genius" Brian Wilson, he added, "As one of the principle architects of the Beach Boys' sound, Brian sold us visions of America that were infused with romanticism, hope and in places, sheer fragility. Genius is the only word for it."
