"Not many people have it in them to do something they love, simply because they love it," she wrote in a blog post called "Amy Flies in Paradise." "With no fuss and no compromise. But she knew what she was capable of and didn't even need to try. If she wanted to do something she would and if she didn't she'd say f--- off. It came easy to her and that's why we all loved her so much. We believed every word she wrote, and it would sink in deep when she sang them."
"Amy paved the way for artists like me and made people excited about British music again whilst being fearlessly hilarious and blasé about the whole thing. I don't think she ever realised just how brilliant she was and how important she is, but that just makes her even more charming. Although I'm incredibly sad about Amy passing I'm also reminded of how immensely proud of her I am as well and grateful to be inspired by her. Amy flies in paradise. xx"

And I'm sorry, the main reason I say that is that we humans make a big deal out of our particular lives and world but in the grand scheme of things, none of what we are doing now will matter in 10 million years or maybe even a million. We probably won't even be here in 500 thousand so what difference does it make?? In all actuality, you should be thankful that Amy and people like her are no longer competing for your food source because my guess is, based on population models, that will be what does us in quicker than anything else.

July 27 2011 at 12:24 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replyas far as pain killers after surgery? i had 3 c sections the pain killers were necessary . you dont get the same high as when u take something your body really dosent need ! as far as any drug addict goes you were warned and did it anyway.
no one is to blame but yourself.
My husband was an alcholic thank goodness goute scared him straight.
My sister and cousins were drug addicts they robbed our families blind. It took 6 years of rehab, tough love and family members always letting them know they were not abandoned. It takes one pill to get addicted it takes an army to get the addict straight
Ok, i started out taking them for pain so that is complete BS!!!!!!! Eventually, anyone can get addicted to PK's but only a select group of us have a predisposition to take it a step further. You get the same high if you have a predispostion regardless of why you started taking them in the first place!!
July 27 2011 at 12:20 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyOK, this is for those of you who have an ignorance about addiction and I don't mean ignorant in a negative way. I am a recovering opiate addict! When you have a predispostion to using drugs or alcohol to alter the way you feel, you will turn to that every time life throws you a curve. I'm not suggesting that we are weak people, far from it. It just feels better to be F'd up regardless of your drug of choice. Since Amy had already used heroin and liked it and showed her brain how "good" it feels, she may be better off dead because you never, ever forget that you just feel so much better when you are on that drug. It's hard to explain to someone who isn't an addict. If you wonder what that means because you're not one, I'll try to explain it this way. Have you ever had a surgery or any other reason to use narcotic pain meds?? Did you like the feeling it gave you??? If your answer is yes, then you are probably predisposed to the same condition that Amy fell victim to. From what I understand, it's about 50/50 in terms of who likes it and who doesn't. Those of us who like it, will always like it and have to stay as far away from it as we can. The unfortunate part for Amy is that it's much harder to when you have the means and it's right in front of you. I have no idea how Robert Downey Jr. did it. I really don't!! I know this isn't what some want to hear but it is what is. She's probably better off dead because she wouldn't have stopped no matter how much love her family gave her. Love isn't everything.

July 26 2011 at 11:18 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThat's bull!!! why didn't anyone take her to jail for being high on stage. Now her poor parents feel sorry. If it was my kid, i'd lock him or her in a closet and commit them to treatment. Parents shouldn't sit around and watch their kid kill themselves from drug. day late dollar short
July 26 2011 at 3:55 PM Report abuse Permalink -1 rate up rate down ReplySo using that logic, do you think that everyone that wants to kill themselves should go to jail and suffer through a life they obviously don't want to live??
Regardless of your answer to that statement, have you ever been drunk in public??
What she never realized? Speed kills. So do other drugs.
July 26 2011 at 2:40 PM Report abuse Permalink -1 rate up rate down ReplyI have to say I was shocked like everyone else to find out Amy Whinehouse died suddenly. I loved her cd "Back to Black" but in all honesty I think as a live performer she was horrible. I enjoyed her singing her first cd and watching her for she was clean, looked great, and sounded very good. I felt she had that something special but after seeing so many clips of her singing live the Back to Black cd, she just sounded bad and nothing so great about her stage persona either. What I couldn't understand is why did these venue allowed her to drink on stage knowing her reputation or was it just coke soda she was having? I hope she RIP.
July 26 2011 at 2:10 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyOne thing Amy did not know was me. I will be 65 in a few weeks, the mother of five and four grandchildren. I made an effort to listen to her music and absorb her talent. This came on the heels of all the media attention she continually gets from her marriage to her revolving door syndrome from one rehab center to another. I know there is no distance or time zone with our Lord and Savior, so I began to pray for her. God has a bigger plan for Amy. She died alone at home, not at a party or hotel room. He took her gracefully and with much compassion as only HE can provide. My heart goes out to her family, especially her mother and father. I pray that the hand of God will continually be upon them and cover them in the dark hours with His love and comfort them. Mark and Teri pray that she knows God and that HE loves her soul as well. Indeed HE loves her, as HIS is the only unconditional love that prevails. HE has a bigger and better plan for your Amy.

I believe Adele will move up to Front Row Center now.I belive winehouse had a very good heart and soul, its a shame her last couple of boyfriends walked all ocver her, including last one Regg, producer, who was found cheating on her a couple wks before her death. She will be missed!
