The one-time Golden God joined three local musicians on July 11 to revisit his Led Zeppelin back catalogue and solo career highlights at a £3 ( per ticket fundraiser in Monmouth, Wales. The gig was organised in memory of record producer Pat Moran who died in January of a rare form of dementia.
In addition to producing Plant's second solo album, 'The Principle of Moments,' Moran also served production duties on Iggy Pop's 'Soldier', Big Country's 'No Place Like Home' and Hawkwind's 'Choose Your Masques'. He was also assistant engineer on Queen's 'A Night At The Opera' as well as engineering Rush's 'A Farewell To Kings'.
Fan Darren Martin, 45, is quoted by the BBC saying, "It was amazing -- he's a rock god and he was playing in a village hall."
The producer's brother and gig organiser Brian said, "It was very kind of Mr. Plant to join in -- Pat would have been very proud. Mr. Plant was even kind enough to sign a t-shirt which will be auctioned on eBay."
