Marcus Mumford Engaged to Carey Mulligan?

Reports have emerged that Marcus Mumford is engaged to actor Carey Mulligan.

There has been no official acknowledgement, but the Mumford and Sons frontman is believed to have popped the question over the weekend at an upscale hotel and country club.

The Sun quotes an eyewitness at Babington House, Somerset, who describes Mulligan -- Oscar-nominated for her performance in 'An Education' -- showing off a new diamond ring.

"Carey looked like the cat who had got the cream," the source said. "She was wearing a beautiful ring and didn't seem to mind who saw it. They were stuck to each other like glue. She was doing most of the talking and he was hanging on her every word."

If the engagement theory is true, then the couple have been moving fast -- they only met in February when Mumford invited her to a private set he played in Nashville, Tenn.

A few months previously, Mulligan had been dating Hollywood star Shia LeBeouf, while last year the singer had broken up with nu-folkie Brit winner Laura Marling. Spokesmen for the pair refused to comment.
