Tony Azzopardi, a 56-year-old who says he was a friend of Winehouse's, said he met her outside of a bar called the Eagle, which is located near her North London home, at 11:30PM on Friday, July 22. He claims they took a cab to West Hampstead, where they met a drug dealer they both knew, and Winehouse purchased a half-ounce each of crack cocaine and heroin, totaling £1,200.
"She gave me a kiss on the cheek and that was it -- the last time I saw her," Azzopardi, an admitted drug user, told the Daily Mirror. "She looked good, you know, fit -- like she'd been clean for a while and filled out a bit. I couldn't believe it when I found out she was gone."
Azzopardi, who met Winehouse through her ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil, will be interviewed again by police and said he came forward because "I want Amy's family to know the truth about what happened. I want to help them out -- but I'm worried about my safety." He says the dealer in question is a local "Mr. Big" who could seek revenge on him.
The news comes just days after Winehouse's family claimed she may have died from alcohol withdrawal. Friends also said that she had been clean in the weeks leading up to her death, but now the singer's former hairdresser has said she was definitely back on drugs.
"The two weeks leading up to it [her death], I was talking about it a lot. Just because of the Belgrade gig, it was just so obvious," Alex Foden told BBC Radio 5 (via Hollyscoop). "I'd never seen Amy on that level, I burst out crying because I know how hard it is."
As Spinner reported earlier today (Aug. 1), Winehouse has topped the UK charts following her death at age 27. A representative has also denied reports that she was adopting a girl from St. Lucia, saying that was simply "not true."

it's a very sad and heart breaking story.. it isnt eas to quit useing, it
s like , for a example, if you smoke cigaretes and you try to quit, you get these urges, and they are very strong, you have to be very strong willed. It's so easy to to just have one then to be tortured by the urges that haut you 24/7..
I have been in Amy's sistution when I was young, into drugs. when I was quitting, you would actually dream about it, doing it, and getting that high feeling, so when ou wake up, you want that feeling.. you always want that first feeling of getting high, that's mainly what you're looking for, except you never get it.. R.I.P Amy
Crack + Heroin?

That way those who feel bad for the whole situation could share their feelings and those who don't give a damn wouldnt get so pissed off and express their anger for the rest to hear

The whole thing is disrespectful and breaks my heart. perhaps these people should think how they would feel if it was their child/sister/friend etc....
Gary, I don't know who you are but I agree with you. I am a close friend of a family member and my blood boils reading all the **** that nasty greedy money grabbers are saying. The press have got pretty much most things wrong and they should leave my friends alone in peace to mourn her.
The whole thing breaks my heart.
She was an addict.. And this is representive of what the disease of addiction will eventually do to you if you do not address it. So for those who don't undertand the "Disease" keep your uneducated comments to yourself..
