Kings of Leon bassist Jared Followill has admitted his band faces issues after they postponed a gig and halted another early over the weekend.
On Friday, the Tennessee outfit failed to complete a set in Dallas after frontman Caleb Followill left the stage with three numbers left to play, denying he was drunk.
The BBC quotes him as saying, "I'm trying to sing but I haven't got a voice, I've got nothing ... "I'm gonna go backstage and I'm gonna vomit, I'm gonna drink a beer and I'm gonna come back out and play three more songs," he added before leaving the stage for good. His brother Jared said, "I don't know what to say. It's not our fault. It's Caleb. He can't play."
The band then pulled a concert in Houston the following night, with an official statement from the venue claiming Caleb was suffering from "heat exhaustion and dehydration," causing his "vocal chords to seize." However, Jared tweeted, "I know you guys aren't stupid. I can't lie. There are problems in our band bigger than not drinking enough Gatorade."
After the Dallas gig came to a sudden halt, he had posted on the same site, "There are internal sicknesses & problems that have needed to be addressed."
Kings of Leon are due to continue their tour on Tuesday in Tampa, Fla., with the Houston gig rescheduled for September.
