Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds' eponymous debut is due for release in October but, according to Gallagher, his new spouse has never been an admirer of his music. The singer-songwriter told XFM (via Gigwise), "I've got to say, my missus is not the biggest fan of anything I've ever done ever. She's a bit like ... 'Meh. 'It's not Kasabian, is it? Do you know what I mean?'"
As for her husband's new material, there's one song that McDonald was particularly surprised to see make the final cut. Gallagher said, "There's one on the new album she really doesn't like. The last track. When she saw the track listing, she said 'Oh, you've not included that bloody song have you?'"
He concluded, "Someone might like it. She's from Scotland, I know my place. She's more Northern than I am."
Fans will be able to decide for themselves come October when Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds also play their first live shows, starting at Dublin's Olympia in Ireland on Oct. 23.
The dates are as follows:
Dublin Olympia, Ireland (Oct. 23)
Edinburgh Usher Hall, Scotland (Oct. 27)
London HMV Hammersmith Apollo, England (Oct. 29)
