Her family believes it "makes sense" for the Camden townhouse to become the centre for the Amy Winehouse Foundation, an insider has claimed.
Her father, Mitch Winehouse, has revealed that the charity will support a range of "causes close to her heart," The Sun reports. "It could include help for children in trouble, kids suffering health problems, children's hospices and more. We want to make a positive difference."
Mitch, Winehouse's record label Universal and her management all agree that its HQ should be the property where she was found dead two weeks ago, it's reported. The family did discuss selling the house, but a source told the tabloid they had opted to keep it for now.
"They think it's too precious to give up, hence the new HQ idea," the informant was also quoted saying. "They don't want to rent it out and if they sold it they think it could attract the wrong kind of buyer as it was where Amy passed away. They may sell one day but that would be some way off."
The foundation's mission statement is due to be announced on Sept. 14 the date that would have been Winehouse's 28th birthday.

We all have demons, unless you consider yourself perfect, which would not surprise me. Regardless of her lifestyle choices, respect that her parents are doing something to honor her that will end up helping many lives instead of being a pathetic ignorant fool.

August 05 2011 at 1:07 PM Report abuse Permalink +3 rate up rate down ReplySeeking publicity at every turn is not mourning. Let the daughter rest. In six months to one year, collect your thoughts, make your plans and do whatever in her memory. Let the poor addict settle in her grave first.
