Best known internationally as the Royal Wedding singer, Goulding is poised to become the next British musical star to find mega success across the pond -- a position Winehouse found herself in four years ago when her tailspin started to get out of hand. And though Goulding is no stranger to the perils of touring, she contends her commitment to balancing those indulgences with an active lifestyle is the key to future success.
"Right now I'm living off sugar and salt and alcohol, but I run a lot," she tells Spinner. "When I started running journalists called it a publicity stunt, which it wasn't, I genuinely like running with people."
Goulding hopes that Winehouse's death will make critics think twice before questioning her motives.
"Even the mention of her name makes me sad," she says of her predecessor. "Maybe now they'll think twice while making fun of my well-being."
Currently on a NYLON Magazine-sponsored North American tour supporting her UK chart-topping debut album, 'Lights,' the singer says she's still getting used to the adulation of pop stardom.
"I'm still uncomfortable with a massive 'pop star' push," the BRIT award-winner, whose album cover was recently featured in an iPod ad, says. "It's not really who I am."
Regardless, she's aware that her next album will be crucial to her success stateside. As such, she's already got a big name American producer lined up.
"I can't tell you who it is yet," she teases, "but it's f---ing good s---!"

I would hope that her untimely death would be a wake-up call for all celebrities. Just because you've got fame doesn't make you immune to the dangers of drug abuse. If drug abuse is a disease as they say, then aren't you being ignorant ingesting/inhaling the very thing that gives you the disease or awakens the disease already in you?
Sure drugs are easily available and popular among your peers, so what? Are you that much of a follower that you have to go with the crowd and do drugs too? Or, are you a free thinker who can learn from the deaths of people like Ms Winehouse and NOT put yourself at such risk. If you want to take a risk, sing an edgy song, be the lead in a questional script, take a unique political stand, marry your baby daddy and stay married, rent space on a shuttle to the moon, don't pickle/burn yourself from the inside out for a short-lived drug high. Let Ms. Winehouse's death be a wake-up call. Some of us enjoy your music, your movies, your TV shows...we'd like to keep talented people around!
Many see celebrities as role models; so model a role worth following! LEAD instead of follow. Show the world you have a brain along with that talent! I'd love to see a Hollywood/celebrity move against drugs and alcohol with actors, singers, etc. cleaning up their lives and getting healthy in remembrance of Amy Winehouse. THAT would make some sense out of her death!
