Raveonettes' Sune Rose Wagner Hospitalized With Herniated Disk

Sune Rose Wagner, one half of Danish fuzz-rock duo the Raveonettes, has been sidelined due to a herniated disk. According to the band's blog (via Consequence of Sound), the singer-guitarist was admitted to Beth Israel Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Aug. 3 after suffering severe back pain on his "way home from the chiropractor." His injury will require six weeks of physical therapy and will leave him incapable of playing shows during that time.

Though his injury will leave fellow Raveonnette Sharin Foo in the lurch for their upcoming European tour, she has vowed to do her best in shouldering the responsibility, promising, "I will go to Europe and spread our Rave gospel."

Foo will continue with the two members of their backing band for the remaining dates, confessing, "I'm terrified and overwhelmed by the task of playing without Sune, but also encouraged and motivated by the challenge. Needless to say it will be a deconstructed Raveonettes."
