Coldplay Announce 'Mylo Xyloto' as Title of New Album, Due Out Oct. 24

'Mylo Xyloto' (pronounced my-lo zy-letoe). It doesn't exactly roll off the tongue but that's indeed the name of Coldplay's new album, the rockers revealed (via NME) Friday, Aug. 12, confirming fans' suspicions. The band's fifth studio album will hit the streets Oct. 24.

Produced by Markus Dravs (Bjork, Arcade Fire), Daniel Green and Rik Simpson (Jay-Z, PJ Harvey) with some handiwork by the great Brian Eno, the disc will be available in the usual formats (digital/CD/vinyl), as well as a special edition package which offers up fun extras such as a book featuring graffiti pop-up art by David A Carter and exclusive content like excerpts from the studio diary, photos and the group's personal notebooks.

Fans will be able to hear the album's first single, 'Paradise,' come Sept. 12. No other tracks have been revealed as of yet. That's right, we still don't know if recent single 'Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall' made it onto the disc. Now that the first single and album art has been revealed, though, chances are the tracklisting can't be far behind. We hope.
