John Mellencamp and Estranged Wife Finalize Divorce

The couple has been separated since Sept. 1, 2010 and share two sons together: 17-year-old Hud and 16-year-old Speck. The two will have joint legal custody over their children, though the boys will fall under the primary physical custody of their mother, who will return to the name Elaine Irwin.
According to the settlement agreement, the pair has agreed to "an amicable settlement of all issues involving property and maintenance rights, the custody and support of their children, and all other issues."
Mellencamp has been dating Meg Ryan since the split and the two have been spotted in New York City, Martha's Vineyard and Mellencamp's home of Bloomington, Ind.

I am glad to read that they had an amicable divorce. I wonder if they used the collaborative divorce process to help them negotiate a settlement that satisfied both John's and Elaine's interests. It is good to hear stories of families splitting in a manner that does not destroy the family and deplete all of the assets. It can be done.

Why is everybody bashing HIS looks? SHE looks to be majorly anorexic. But, besides looks, I saw him in concert and enjoyed it thoroughly. He was having a good time, created a fun atmospere, played all his popular songs, and everyone had a night of great entertainment. What more can you ask for??? And as for him an Meg Ryan, I read that they have been friends for years. Maybe they'll be geat for each other.
