In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, bassist Flea reveals he was afraid that his band was kaput without Frusciante. "I couldn't imagine going out with someone else. It seemed done ... It's like missing a family member." Though even without their legendary guitarist, the band can still rock as well as ever.
As Spinner previously reported, Bay Area rapper and resident hater Kreayshawn was slated to direct the band's video for 'Rain Dance Maggie,' but according to our friends over at Consequence of Sound, her video has been scrapped.
The Chilli Peppers instead called upon director Marc Klasfeld (Katy Perry, Nelly) to helm the new video, which shows the band in its new form -- Kiedis has a new haircut and creepy 'stache while guitarist Josh Klinghoffer delivers constant tasteful riffs. Filmed at one of the band's surprise rooftop performances in Venice Beach, Calif., 'The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie' is a fitting video for a band that's been through at all and still remains on top.
'I'm With You,' the Chili Peppers' first album without Frusciante in 15 years, will hit record store shelves on Aug. 30. That same day, Fuse will air a special concert by the group that will be taped at L.A.'s Roxy on Aug. 22, and the whole shebang will kick off with a band interview at 8:30PM.
Meanwhile, we're wondering just one thing -- what did the Kreayshawn video look like?
