"Somebody else pinched [the name] off of us before we could get it registered," Winehouse told Newsbeat. "All these donations which are coming in -- we don't know what to do with them at the moment."
Though plans are stalled, Mitch is still very much committed to realizing his vision of having an organization in Amy's name. The foundation will help those suffering from substance abuse as well as children, with the headquarters located in the former London home of the singer, who passed away at the age of 27 on July 23.
"The plan is to help all children -- not just rehabilitation, not just substance abuse," he added. "It's to help all children in need. If you cannot afford a private rehabilitation clinic, there is a two-year waiting list for help."
There's no info about who may have taken the "Amy Winehouse Foundation" name, but for the sake of the singer's legacy, we hope arrangements are made swiftly to have the title transferred over to Winehouse.
