After complaining of chest pains last Wednesday in the South of France, U2 frontman Bono met with top heart specialists at Monaco's Princess Grace Memorial Hospital, the Irish Independent reports.
The singer underwent extensive testing but wasn't admitted overnight, according to reports. Doctors did, however, prescribe some rest and relaxation -- popular cure-alls in the South of France.
"As I understand it he was seen by a doctor -- he is okay now but he got a fright," a source told the Independent.
Two nights later, a shades-less Bono joined wife Ali, Julian Lennon and fashion designer John Rocha for dinner at the ritzy nightspot Saas Cafe. Perhaps following his doctors' advice, Bono refrained from hard partying and left early in his new Audi A8.
While it's not yet known what might have caused the singer's palpitations, Bono's ticker might still be reeling from last week's news that his stake in Facebook has quadrupled over the last two years, leaving him with an investment valued at $910 million.
