CMJ 2011 Initial Lineup Announced: Portugal. The Man, Dum Dum Girls + More

With summer winding down, it's time to start planning for CMJ, the annual festival where thousands of bands descend on New York City for a few days of rocking. On Tuesday, Aug. 23, the organizers announced the initial lineup and, as usual, it features a great variety of established and up-and-coming acts.

This year, CMJ-goers will get to see Portugal. The Man, Dum Dum Girls, EMA, Givers, Wild Flag, Kermit Ruffins, the Wombats, Metronomy, Handsome Furs, CSS, Neon Indian, Class Actress, Talib Kweli, Zola Jesus, Art vs. Science, Viva Brother, Davila 666, Eleanor Friedberger, Jean Grae, Pharoahe Monch, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, US Royalty, Datarock, the Parlotones, Kvelertak, Sea of Bees and Memoryhouse.

The festival will be held Oct. 18-22, and you can check back soon for plenty of coverage for Spinner, as long as our caffeine stash holds out. Who are you excited to see there?

I am beyond excited with the line up! I can't wait until they add more and more artists to the festival itself. Portugal. the Man is going to be hectic!
I recommend everyone buys their tickets ASAP for the last final discount going on now so definitely worth it!
