Luckily, time heals most wounds. According to Rolling Stone, Decca has partnered with Paul McCartney to release the score of his first ballet, 'Oceans Kingdom.' The show will debut at the New York City Ballet's fall gala on Sept. 22, while the album is set set drop in England on Oct. 3.
Speaking with the New York Times in February, McCartney stated that the ballet would be "basically a romantic story" that pits the pure ocean kingdom against "the sort of baddies" who inhabit the earthly realm. Amidst these two divided houses, a love story flourishes, 'Romeo and Juliet'-style.
Elaborating on the play, McCartney explained, "For me, the sheer athleticism is the most astounding thing about what I'm seeing. It's like a meeting of the Olympic games and art, and I find that fascinating and challenging for me, to see what can be done."
